best web site

To my mind, http://www.mmcg.com is one of the best web sites I've seen, ever.

It is for a graphics firm, and gets the message across. (I've seen too many sites selling vacumn cleaners with rotating sweepers that take ages for a 56K to load.)

"Here we are", this site says, "we do graphics. Contact us."

    I did.

    Hi, Mark ~

Despite the fact I regularly use Windows-based OSs, I was the managing partner of an advertising/design firm that exclusively utilized & wholeheartedly believes that Mac is the definitive tool for graphic and design rendering. However, the website above has everything to do with concept and little if nothing to do with Apple.

    Hi Bruce,

It's all good... I was just giving Chris a hard time. I happen to agree that Mac is fantastic for graphics and design. As a matter of fact, I believe that the front-end of the web should be completely cross-platform.

One thing that I find interesting is that Macromedia's Studio MX offers the exact same software for both Mac and PC. Of course, the backend is another story... Most large data-management tasks require a PC-driven platform (Microsoft OR non-Microsoft).

    Morning, Mark!

I know, and I the same. Just didn't want to take due credit away from the designer. Many people over do it and think they are a designer when in fact the better artists realize that there are volumes to be conveyed in minimalism.

Oh, no big deal. Nice guy, good conversation. And I agree with you - it is a concept thing.

In the past I've tried to explain to Vacumn Cleaner Repair Shops that their web site will need their phone number, location, and hours of operation rather than rotating photos of sweepers, that it is all to do with text-based search engines etc.
