Re: Help!!!

    You must remember something.

First, does that attachment have anything to do with your question?

Second, how is attendance currently tracked? Or, if you had nothing other than blank paper and a pencil, how would you track it? Often, the first step in designing a database solution is to turn away from the monitor and come up with the answer on paper, and only then try to program it. Otherwise, you end up going down one blind alley after another. Or worse, you build the ideal solution and when the people who need it see it, they demand one "little change" that wrecks the whole thing....

Third, what does ERT stand for?

    Help!!!

(Edited by charlotte on 14-Feb-03 19:39. Removed attachment.)
I am new to Access (having just completed a course two days ago, and forgotten everything I was taught) I have been given a project in which I need to keep track of attendance for about 100 employees who attend a weekly ERT Training at our facility. There are 12 units to take for each shift (we have a rotating schedule of shift workers A, B, C, D). How would I do this?

I removed your attachment because it appeared to contain real names and a phone number and since it did not appear to have any direct bearing on your message. I'm posting this publicly as a reminder to all Loungers to be very careful to avoid posting real data either in an attachment or directly in a post.

    Re: Help!!!

    1) I did not realize that information was attached to my posting. 2) The current attendance is tracked by blank paper and pencil, which has not been the most accurate way of tracking attendance. I think they were just waiting for me to complete this course. (Smiles). I have since turned away from the monitor and started to create on paper the program. 3) ERT - Emergency Response Team.
