Help with IF Function (Excel '97)

I have a cell that could contain one of four text options. I want the IF function to display one of four criteria depending on what is entered in the reference cell. For example: If the text "Full" is entered, then the destination cell will display 86, If the text "Twin" is entered, then the destination cell will display 56....and so on for two or more variables. If anyone can offer any advice regarding this, I would appreciate it! =)

Something like the following should do the trick. You can nest up to 7 if statements, I made up the other two criteria shown below.

    =IF(B1="Full",86,IF(B1="Twins",56,IF(B1="Null",36, IF(B1="Double",26,"No Value"))))

    =INDEX({86,56},MATCH(ReferenceCell,{"Full","Twins" },0))

Just expand the constant arrays {86,56} and {"Full","Twins"} to cover the rest of associations.
