loss of font colour on paste (Word & XL 97 sr2 in Win 2000/NT4)

Create a chart in XL 97 then label the data points then change the colour of the font of one label.

Now paste or paste special the chart into Word 97 and the one coloured label reverts to the default black. Or make them all a differnt colour and when they are pasted they all revert to black.

Anybody else seen this and if so is there a fix?

    stuck

Switching my default printer to a colour one fixes the problem. I didn't think to look there as coloured bars pasted in correctly, i.e. in colour, it was just the labels that reverted to B&W.

    (un)stuck

I can't reproduce this (Excel and Word 97 SR2, Dutch) when I copy the chart to the clipboard normally. I've tried pasting floating and inline, linked and non-linked, as Excel object and as picture (Enhanced Meta File).

However, when I copy the chart as a picture (keep Shift key down, select Edit/Copy Picture...), and I select the "As printed" option, I get a black font because my default printer is a B&W laser printer.
