Yes, I've heard of DriveImage, but I am not interested in such a solution.

Question was comparing BUMP and Retrospect.

Thanks for confirming the question. How silly of me. But since Wooodys Lounge is about learning from everyones post, maybe you can help me by explaning what kind of solutions come from BUMP and Retrospect? You never know , it might be something I could use.
As to the thread I posted in response to your question. It was just a friendly thought as to a solution that I use for backing up mp PC in hopes that if you DIDN"T know about Drive Image it might have been something you could also look into and as a solution, as with others who read these threads might gain knowledge about a program that they have not yet used. Hence the reason for Woodys Lounge.

Why not give us a hot link to these two products?

I am not pleased with BackupMyPC. I have Backup Exec 4.21. I tried their new evaluation version & it will not span CDs on my Sony CRX100E burner, even though the old BE did.

Is the evaluation version, version 4.85?

Your drive is listed in the supported drives list.

I'm planning on using Dantz Retrospect Pro in the system I build, using externbal USB drives for full backups and DVD and CD-RW for incremental backups. Haven't decided on drives yet.

Dantz lists your drive as supported.
Dantz has a demo version (which I've not used).

Yes, it's 4.85. They had others ask the same question on the forum (with different drives). They had a FAQ with a workaround to use the Microsoft generic drivers, but that didn't work. I can use it to back up to an external hard drive, but not to CDs. I want the option to do either.

I may download & try the evaluation version of Dantz. I've used Backup Exec & it's predecessors (from Arcada to Colorado), so I'm used to it. Too bad. And with all the hype about Stomp, Inc. being so great.
