    Print error message (word97 sr2b)

We have received documents from outside clients. Each time our users attempt to print the files the following word/printing message is displayed
'Couldn't print document, Error: Settings you chose for the lett and right margins, column spacing, or paragraph indents are too large for the page width in some sections'.
Last time I received this message I resolved & cleared the message by going into File>PageSetup>Layout>Vertical Alignment = Top>OK(as this was set to Center).
However I checked each section in the doc & this setting is set to Top.
any ideas how I can print the document?

    many thanks

I guess the first question is whether the individual sections print okay on their own. If so, maybe there is some issue with your automation?

<UL><LI>Do you have macros running that intercept the print command and change any of the Page Setup settings?
<LI>In these files, are there any particularly funky sections (such as an envelope)?[/list]The above might help with diagnosis.

    Hey there jscher

I've checked one of the sections page setups the outof the ordinary settings I found was in Margins>From Edge Header = 0 , each time I attempt to enter a valid number eg 1 & click OK - it wont allow me I get another error message 'Settings you chose for the left & right margins, column spacing, or paragraph indents are too large for the page width in some sections.'
this particular section is formatted with columns.
the docs too big to attach.

    How annoying; maybe it's a new kind of document protection. <img src=/S/laugh.gif border=0 alt=laugh width=15 height=15>

If you first adjust the columns, you probably then can adjust the page margins. I've had to do that before; in fact, this whole issue might have come up in the Lounge before in relation to columns. However, such a probably will change the appearance of the document. I wonder how the sender prints it??

    Yes annoying...
however I did manage to resolve. how? 2 docs.
the 1st doc had 4 sections - the 3rd section was formatted with 2 columns & odd & even section break.
I amended the whole doc to 1 column & changed the odd & even section to next page( we dont need odd & even) >then re-formatted section 3 to 2 columns again & it worked ie printed OK.
The 2nd doc fix was along the same lines- the doc had 4 sections (all sections Next page) 3rd section formatted with 2 columns - changed whole doc to 1 column & reformatted 3rd section to 2 columns again. saved & printed OK.

    many thanks
