    Scheduler Problem (XP SP1)

I happened to read about BootVis and figured I would try it out. After the logging when I attempted to run the Optimize, I was receiving messages telling me the Scheduler would not start and that I should manually defrag my system before running Bootvis. This didn't make sense because I use Speed Disk manually when needed. I went to Services and found the Scheduler was set to automatic so I tried to start the service. I received the message - "Error 1717 - The Interface is not found". I've verified this happens all the time - after reboots and logging on directly as Administrator also. Virus protection is up to date and system is scanned for Trojans regularly. I've really never checked the Scheduler before because I had no reason to. The system works fine. Any thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Bob

Make sure that Event Log Service is started first - then start scheduler.
