    Outlook file recovery (2002 SP2)

does anyone know of any tools to recover a corrupted Outlook (.pst) file? I've checked out http://www.OfficeRecovery.com but the free demo is worse than useless; it doesn't recover anything nor does it even show you what it could recover. I'm not prepared to pay $250 for a piece of software I will only use once and which cannot show me that it's going to work.

Does Office 2002 include a version of scanpst.exe, the Inbox repair tool that came with Office 2000?

As Jefferson suggested, you should have scanpst.exe installed with 2002 - and should be found in your ...Program FilesSystemMapi1033 folder.
You should also find a scanpst.hlp file there - double click on it for instructions.

Presumably your .pst is under 2GB?

I tried scanpst but it found no problems with the file even though Outlook says it's not a personal folders file.

I've never heard of that one before. If you run the exact error message on http://search.microsoft.com/, does anything come up?
