filtering (6)

I have a number of filters set up for OE and some of them are what seems to be randomly going to the wrong folders.
Any ideas why this is happening.

What is going where, perhaps more info or an example would help. Filters must be set up to exactly what you want for them to be useful. Get back with an example of something that is incorrectly filing itself and the settings you have relating to it in the filter.

Re: filtering (6)

In checking the last one that went to the wrong folder I noticed I missed a period after his middle intial.
It should have went to a folder titled Newsletters, where the from line contains his name.
But I don't know why it went to the folder it did.
It went to a folder titled Buyers, here I have filters set for where the from line contains ______--move to the Buyers folder.
I checked the filter for that folder and there wasn't any "Allens" or "Hainges"
So I do not know why it went there.
That is the only example I have right now, I will make note when it happens again.
Thanks, Stevo

Another thing to check is that all your rules (filters, whatever) have 'and stop processing any more rules' at the end, and are in the order you want them to apply - otherwise, if an email happens to comply with the requirements for more than one rule, you'll find that after the first one is applied, the second one will be applied too, moving the email from the right place to the wrong one!

COOL! That is a good point. I know I did not check that in the filters, but I will now.
Thanks, Stevo
