    Ooooold spreadsheet package

This is goin' waaay back, folks - back to the early '90s - Lotus came out with a 'revolutionary' spreadsheet package that was touted to be years ahead of Excel or even 1-2-3. I simply can't remember the name they gave it - anybody remember what it was called?
The thing I remember most about it was the ability to resize individual cells without affecting the rows or columns adjacent to them. At least that's what it was supposed to do.

I think it was Lotus Improv. If you do a Google, you'll find lots of hits. You can even buy it - see http://www.penfold.com/penfold/websi...mprov?OpenPage

    Re: Ooooold spreadsheet package

    I have a copy. I used it for about 6 months in Win3.1 on a 386-33 machine. It was strange but interesting. Go to sleep! <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

[Edit ; and what I recall wasn't that it resized the cells, it was that the sheet view expanded only to show used cells as you used more cells ... or something like that. It did have excellent graphics capabilities for that time, and it was seriously drag-&-drop.]
