    High Tech Thermometer?

I understand this animal actually exists, but I wonder if anyone has any experiences they wouldn't mind sharing?

I am planning to purchase a digital thermometer which can download its reading to a PC and then you are able to produce all sorts of reports and graphs!

The only info I has so far is from a supplier (whose name I've misplaced at the moment, sorry!) so any info will be graetfully accepted. There will be a range of uses from checking the computer room, aircon, refrigeration...

    TIA.

Plenty of choices, depending on how technical and financially healthy your own resources are! You can simply acquire your own data acquisition board and suitable temperature probes and with a bit of programming, get exactly what you want.
Otherwise, companies like Lascar make a range of data loggers with RS232 connections - click on "Data Loggers" when you get to their main page.

If you really want to see what is available, Google on "data acquisition temperature" - around half a million hits.

What type are you looking for?
I used to own an appliance company and we did repairs.
I have one that is a magnet with a hard drive(?) inside (it is about 1" by 1"). You put it in a freezer or refrig and leave it for a couple of days.
Next you plug it into RS232 and with the software read the temps. I was specifically designed to watch the temp flux of the defrost cycle but I have used it for more.

I have used products from Testo and I have been very happy with them.
