    Sending E-Mail from VBA (97/sr2)

I'm using the DoCmd command with SendObject method to send e-mail to Microsoft Outlook 97. Everything works fine except that Outlook displays the message box from the user's PC that says "A program is trying to automatically send e-mail on your behalf. Do you want to allow this?"

I don't want the user to see this message because it is part of the security code if someone repeatedly enters the incorrect password I want to send a message to myself.

It's probably an MS Outlook setting but I can't find it.

    Any help is appreciated.

No, it isn't an Outlook setting, it's a security patch and you can't un-set it. It has nothing to do with Access but everything to do with the security patches applied to Office/Outlook and Internet Explorer. The only way I know of to get around it is to use the Extended MAPI calls instead of MAPI, and the easiest way to do that is through the Redemption dll.

Charlotte, I did see something about Redemption during my research of this problem but wasn't sure if it applied. I will re-visit it.

    Thanks again.
