Accidental draggin of a folder (XP SP1)

I accidentally dragged a folder and placed it on my desktop. I am not sure where this folder came from, LOL. Can someone tell me where to put it back please.

    x86_Microsoft.Tools.VisualCPlusPlus.Runtime-Libraries . . . .

    Thanks!

Re: Accidental draggin of a folder (XP SP1)

This appears to be folder for the runtime files (.DLLs) that allow applications developed in MS Visual C++ to run (ex: MFC42.DLL refers to Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC); ATL.DLL refers to MS Active Template Library (ATL), etc). On my WIN XP system this folder was found in this location:

    C:WINDOWSWinSxSx86_Microsoft.Tools.VisualCPlusPlus .Runtime-Libraries_6595b64144ccf1df_6.0.0.0_x-ww_ff9986d7

I don't know if your folder name is exactly same as above, but I would look for the C:WINDOWSWinSxS folder and move folder on desktop back to correct location. As noted, applications written in MS Visual C++ may not function correctly w/o these files.

    Hi Mark:

I move the folder back To C:windowswinsxs

Do you know of any programs I can test to see if they will function properly?
