    Flagging Messages and contacts (XP)

    When you flag a message, and give a date and time for "follow-up" - how do you get a reminder when that time occurs. I have read that you do get a reminder, but it seems that I never do. Is there an option you need to set to get a reminder for a flag. Also have the same question for contacts. Seems when I flag a contact with a followup - text is added to the address card - but there is no reminder that appears for that date and time. How is outlook supposed to work. What is the purpose of the flag - if there is no reminder Thank you!!

    Thanks for the answer, it helped , but I am still not totally clear. When I put a flag in a contact - which is my default folder - I do not get a reminder. Is that the way it's supposed to work for contacts?

    Also, is it only the default inbox that generates a reminder. e.g. do I understand right that the default sent items folder will not generate a reminder for a flagged item>> Thanks.

    I just ran a Contact Reminder, see graphic, in OL2000 and the Reminder fired. You seem to be following the steps correctly. Are you saving the Contact after the flag is set? Are you on Exchange or a personal setup? As already noted, are you setting flags on items in Default folders, or in a PST or subfolder? Only the Default folder Reminders will fire without Ken Slovak's add-in.
