A funny thing happened on the way to Win 2K...
I have Dell Dimension 600 w/128MB RAM, 26G HDD with NT4 WS pre-installed. In need of USB support, I finally installed the Win 2K upgrade Dell provided. All seemed well until after reboot it was trying to copy files from the CD to finish installation. When it needed files with the CAT extension, it couldn't find them on the CD! On another PC I checked the CD and found the files were there, just with the CA_ extension (about a dozen files in all). So I copied them to a floppy, renamed the extension, and was able to complete the upgrade.
This is so weird I just wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience; perhaps MS has released some bad upgrade disks to OEMs?
