date field start left side (2000)

I am trying to get a date field to automatically place the cursor to the left of the field when you try to enter a date using a mask. In Access 97 I used the code: me.date.SelStart =0 and it worked. Same code does not seem to work in 2000.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

The first problem is Date is a reserved word, so you shouldn't name any control or field Date.

Having said that, this should work to move the insertion point ot the start of the control:

    Me.Controls("Date").SelStart = 0

Unfortunately common sense isn't so common!!
