Adding Signature (Outlook 2000)

Is there any way of adding a signature to an email message created through automation?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Adding Signature (Outlook 2000)

Outlook does have automatic signatures.
Go to Tools
Options
Mail Format Tab
Click on Signatures
New
Give it a name
Next
Type the signature
Finish

The signatures for new messages should have the signature title in and this should appear with every new message.

I have a signature created as you say, but when I call the CreateItem(olMailitem) method of the Outlook.Application object it gives me a blank mail message with no signature. Any ideas?

Hmm, I just looked though the OL 2000 Object Browser and the MicroEye OL 2000 Object Map and I don't see where the Sig is exposed to VBA in the OL 2000 Object Model. I hope someone has a better answer, but it looks like you will have to either hard code it, or call the actual signature text file, and add it to MailItem.Body.

(Edited by jscher2000 on 28-Feb-03 00:30. Fixed typo - Item to Items)
Save a custom form with your signature in it (e.g., MySig), then use the Items.Add("IPM.Note.MySig") method to create the blank message.
