    I've Lost a Form! (Micro.2000/Access)

    OMG What Have I done? When I click on one of my forms (Current Students) I get the Compiled error message! The command button is there but not the form ...I'm gonna die over here! I just posted a a this problem a few minutes ago and now I find out that the whole thing is gone! What should I do?

    Try to keep cool - panicking isn't going to solve your problem.

    Quit the database if you haven't done so. If you have a recent backup, use that, or import the form from that database. If you don't, make a backup now. You may be able to salvage most or all of your database.

    Open your database and compact it (Tools/Database Utilities/Compact and Repair).
    Check if the database is OK now.
    If not, create a new blank database, and try to import all objects (tables, queries, ...) from the problem database.

    That sounds a lot like behavior I've seen on a machine with Office 2000 SR-1 and one of the 2002 apps installed. If that is your situation, get SR3 on there as soon as possible. It will patch the 2000 Access executable to prevent its code objects being toasted by the 2002 version of the VBE6.DLL.
