drop shadow as default (PP 2000, SR-1)

I inherited a presentation that has a default for drop shadow on everything (including any new text you just type on a slide - this has a lot of graphics with little bits of text). I had to send it out for translation and I can't figure out how to turn off this default. Is there a place that sets a drop shadow default on everything? Thanks for any help.

    Hi Nancy -
I believe the default font attributes for PPT 2000 are stored in the design template, which you can edit on the slide master. If I'm wrong, one of the other loungers will hopefully correct me.

I'd first check your autoshape defaults for a shadow. It's probably the one added from the shadow settings on the toolbar. Turn it off, then right-click the autoshape, choose format autoshape, then select the option for "default for new objects" on the resulting dialog box.

If the text is what's shadowed--or is also shadowed--you'll want to select the textbox, go to Format/Font, deselect the shadow option, and check the "default for new objects" box to create a new default font that has no shadow.

Thank you so much! I never thought about right-clicking on the text box.

    You're welcome, Nancy.
You can also get to that dialog by going to Format/Autoshape while you have the autoshape selected. I just find right-clicking a bit easier.
