    Flexible find & replace (97 2000 2002)

    Hi there,

Attached is version 4 of my flexfind utility.

I decided to stop supporting XL5/95 with this version, so it uses a userform rather than a dialog sheet.

    Anyone willing to test?

    Jan Karel,

There is a reference to Microsoft Office Web Components 9.0 in your code. In Excel 97, this is displayed as "MISSING" without any further info, and it can't be turned off (it is reported to be in use). As usual, this broken reference causes simple functions like Left to fail.

I turned off the reference in Excel XP. Apparently it is not needed, for the code could be compiled without problem. Now it works in Excel 97 too, as far as I can tell.

Another remark: although there is a routine to remove the custom toolbar, there is no Workbook_Close or Auto_Close macro that calls it, so the toolbar stays after FlexFind4 has been closed.

    Hi Hans,

    Thanks for the comments.

I removed the reference. I probably tested something I removed later on...

I deliberately removed the toolbar deletion code from the Auto_Close sub so the toolbar stays on your system. That way, one does not have to load the workbook first to be able to click a button. Of course one could also copy the button to another toolbar.

To make sure the toolbar stays up to date, the Auto_open scheme first deletes the toolbar and then recreates it.
