"Company Desktop"

<img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 width=39 height=15>I am helping to create an initial image for laptops that we are going to give our employees. WHERE do you set the default wallpaper? I have changed the regkey HKU.defaultcontrol paneldesktopwallpaper to reflect the bitmap that I want to use, but it doesn't do anything. Currently, I have been on hold with a Microsoft Tech for about 45 minutes. I refuse to believe that this is so hard to do!

HKEY_USERS.DEFAULTCONTROL PANELDESKTOP Text String WALLPAPER is the right location. The best place to put the .bmp file is in WINNTSYSTEM32, so you won't have to enter the path.

Perhaps make sure the .bmp has a short file name?! And that it is really a .bmp file. (As in open in Paint, click save as .bmp) just in case it was a jpeg or gif that someone renamed? (I know, now I'm really reaching )
