    disabling query messages (XP)

I have a module that resets a file - it gets cleared and repopulated.

Is there a way that this can occur without recieving the message "You are about to delete x row(s) from the specified table" and the similar message when inserting rows into the table that "you are about to append x rows". It would be nice to make the job as seamless as possible

    TIA
    Steve

You can insert DoCmd.SetWarnings False before executing an action query in a module, and DoCmd.SetWarnings True afterwards.

    For example:

    DoCmd.SetWarnings False
    DoCmd.OpenQuery "qryDeleteSomeRecords"
    DoCmd.SetWarnings True

Note: if you use DAO or ADO to execute an SQL statement corresponding to an action query, you don't get the warning message.

Thank you!! I figured something had to exist that would suppress the messages, but I sure couldn't seem to find it. Once again, I tip my hat to the Access guru!!
