    Occasional HTML

I normally send straight text messages, but once in a while want to send html - is there a simple menu or icon way to tell Outlook i want to do this? Or does it mean going through options?

    Thanks, Michael

You can put a button on the toolbar to open a blank html message form. Click Tools/Customize/Commands tab. In the left column, click Actions, and in the right, scroll down to HTML (no stationery) -- assuming this is what you want. Drag that to wherever you want it in a tool bar. Then you can click "Modify selection" and replace the text button with an icon, if you like.
