    time help

    is it possible to work out the amount of minutes between to times e.g 14:30 to 17:00 150mins or does excel always use decimals.

    If you format the cells containing the time as hh:mm then subtract one from the other the time should be in hours and minutes, in your case 2:30 =(150mins). If you want the result to show in minutes multiply the result in hh:mm (2:30) by 1440 and format as general (150).

    No Need to multiuply the result by 1440. Format the result cell (Format, Cells, select Custom from the list under Category), and enter:
    [mm]
    in the "Type" box.
