    Subject Line blank

Does anyone know of a way for Outlook 98 or 2000 to check if the subject line is populated before sending an e-mail?
Something, in my haste to send an e-mail I forget to put something on the subject line.
    Thanks for the help.

I'm afraid I wouldn't know how to do that.
Is there an example of a script I can look at?

<A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.slipstick.com>http://www.slipstick.com</A> not sure if there is an example there or not, it's a fairly common question though. a search at deja (now google) might bring up something from the msnews groups.

could be as simple as this - although it sends anyway <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 width=15 height=15> you'd need cancel button
    Function Item_Send()
    if me.Subject = "" then
    msgbox "You forgot the subject"
    end if
    End Function

be aware if this is sent to other outlook users they have to open the message to read it, it's tagged as having active content and the preview pane won't display it.

would probably be better to do it using vba. you are using ol2000, correct?

    MJ,
Thanks for the help. I'll do some searching on google to see what I find.
I am using OL98 at work and OL2000 at home.

    Re: Subject Line blank

ol98 doesn't support vba as well, scripting does but it's not as powerful and has the annoying preview problem <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 width=15 height=15>. It might be difficult to have a solution that works on both... hmm... a com addin would. i need a demo for a class i'm teaching in 2 weeks, maybe i'll do that.

    If you can do it, that'll be great! <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 width=15 height=15>
Please let me know if you do. I think that should be a feature built in OL!
