Startup Form in A97 (Access 97)

<img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20> I have a small database that up until today has always started up in a particular form with the database window hidden.
Now, all of a sudden, it seems to start up in *edit* mode. I've tried to re-set the startup [tools - startup] options but they don't seem to take any effect - in fact when I open the database again they haven't changed to what I set them to.

Does anyone know what's wrong or what I'm missing?

I would suspect some kind of database corruption. Try the following:

    Create a new blank database.
Import all database objects from the problematic database into the new database. Click the Options>> button in the Import Objects dialog, and check the appropriate boxes.
Set the Startup options for the new database.

Does the new database behave correctly? If so, ditch the old database (or keep a backup copy for a while, to be on the safe side) and use the new one instead. If not, post back.
