    New E-mail (Win 98 Office 2000)

I run Win 98 with IE6, Outlook and Word as my E-mail editor. Until a couple of days ago I've had no trouble composing and sending messages. Now I can reply to a message with no problems but I can't compose a new message. I can enter the Send To and Subject but can't enter anything in the body of the message. If I open Word on its own I have no problems. I've recently been reading and making some changes recommended in "Special Edition Using Office 2000". I also downloaded WOPR Pack but have uninstalled it, thinking maybe it was the problem, but no luck.

I found that unchecking the box 'Use Microsoft Word As Editor' enables me to compose messages.

You nailed it! Using Word as your email editor is just inviting problems - lots of them. The best way to avoid all problems is to use plain text, but since that's no fun I generally use HTML (which has its own set of problems).
