Show query filter in report (97)

    Hi all,
I have a report based on a query which has a date criteria for showing only records in a certain date range.
I would like to have a textbox in the report heading showing the date criteria used in the query. (Or any other criteria for that matter.)
I have tried =[Filter] as the control source, but it doesn't show anything.

    Thanks,
    Dan Arbaney

I am sure this is simple to do, but I can't figure it out.

It depends on how you specify the data range for the query.
I always get the query to take its parameters from a form. In this case, I put text boxes on the report, and set the control source of these to be the controls on the form that provide the dates for the query.

If instead you query prompts for dates, then you need textboxes on the report, with the control sources set to be exactly the same prompts as the query uses.
    Regards
    John

    John,
Thanks a million, I was prompting for values in the query and I now have a textbox in the report that shows the dates entered for the query. Works like a charm.
