    multiple logons

Hi!! I was wondering if I logged in to Woody's on a computer in my workplace and forget to log off off, will I be able to tell that when I log in from my home computer? Will I show up twice? Or is being logged into Woody's only in regard to that particular computer because of the cookies? <img src=/S/question.gif border=0 alt=question width=15 height=15> <img src=/S/question.gif border=0 alt=question width=15 height=15> <img src=/S/question.gif border=0 alt=question width=15 height=15>

I know with our email program, we can see when we are logged on the system more then once. <img src=/S/yep.gif border=0 alt=yep width=15 height=15> I just wondered if there was a way to tell that within the Woody's lounge.

AFAIK, you always show up only once in Who's Online. There seem to be no adverse effects of being logged in on more than one PC.

You will not have any problems. If one machine is logged in but not posting you will not be seen.
see the note at the top of the "Who's online page"
<font color=red>Below is a list of Users that have been active within the last 10 minutes. Users who (like Lex) have changed themselves to invisible in their profile will not show up. </font color=red>

I don't mind being "seen" but perhaps I would seem a bit addicted or addled whichever the case may be, if I were to show up logged in more then once!! <img src=/S/yep.gif border=0 alt=yep width=15 height=15>
    <img src=/S/thankyou.gif border=0 alt=thankyou width=40 height=15> for responding <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15> and enjoy the day!

    Re: multiple logons

I don't think I've ever logged off from either my computer at work or the one at home. I'm always logged in, I just close the browser when I'm done and when I come back I click View List of Forums on my Favorites list to come back in. I'm automatically logged in. I've never had a problem.
    I think if I had to log in again, <img src=/S/claude.gif border=0 alt=claude width=21 height=21> would get an e-mail because I don't remember what my password is!

    <hr>...because I don't remember what my password is...<hr>
Yeah, I can dig it! That's how come I use a bookmaark (favorite) like this:

http://www.wopr.com/cgi-bin/w3t/start_page...xx&option=Login where the x's represent my password. Probably don't need it because of cookies, but I use it anyway. Never logout.....

I think you'll find there is an automatic password-mailer to your 'registered' email address if you fail to log in.
    ( Poor <img src=/S/claude.gif border=0 alt=claude width=21 height=21> can't spent every waking hour on call - he's got a whole wine cellar to check every night. <img src=/S/laugh.gif border=0 alt=laugh width=15 height=15> )

But it will be a NEW pasword, but then one can go to "Controls" and change it to something one SHOULD be able to remember.

    That's why I <IMG SRC=http://users.adelphia.net/~nanalonnie/images/Gifs/All/All/writing.gif> all of my username/password for every site that is listed in My Favorites! <img src=/S/evilgrin.gif border=0 alt=evilgrin width=15 height=15>

I know what it is... really I do... I was being facetious. But it does bring up a good point... <img src=/S/claude.gif border=0 alt=claude width=21 height=21> as much better things to worry about in his cellar than up here on the lounge <img src=/S/wink.gif border=0 alt=wink width=15 height=15> so always remember your passwords <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>.

An entirely new usage for the word "check"! <img src=/S/rofl.gif border=0 alt=rofl width=15 height=15> It reminds me that I must check my tequila supply tonight!
