Hyperlinks in Word 2000 docs error (XP SR1 Home)

For some reason I now get the following error message when I click on a URL (hyperlink) in a word document, and, obviously, it doesn't start up Explorer and go the the URL.

    "An unexpected error has occurred"

I didn't used to have this problem. I can copy the URLs and paste them into Explorer and they work OK.

    Any suggestions.

Now there's a name you don't see every day here in the land of Oz.

I would suggest that you follow the yellow brick road layed down by Phil Rabichow in <!post=post 197827,197827>post 197827<!/post>. I think your registry has a problem and this path should go some ways towards solving your file problem.

    Hi Andrew,

Thanks for reminding me of Phil's post. I had printed it out some time ago, but forgot all about it. However, after following Phil's recommendations all the way down to replacing the registry keys, I still have the problem. So far it has me beat.

    Thanks anyway,
