iaf files in email account (Outlook 2002)

I think we are all aware that Outlook 2000 had an extremely convenient way to backup and transfer your Internet E-mail Account settings. You could just export to an IAF file.
Outlook XP does not allow this. You can IMPORT these files....but you cannot backup or export your account settings this way.

Does anyone have or know of a method to save, transfer or archive these specific settings?

I have a client that just had a flood....lost 7 computers in a peer to peer. I can restore them just fine but I would love to save myself/increase my profit. I loved this old option. I hate that it no longer exists. I hope they put this option back, in the new Office 11 coming out soon.

What a stupid decision it was to remove this feature!

I had never heard of this, and I can't use it because I use Outlook 2000 in Corporate/Workgroup mode. Seems to have been a fairly limited feature.

Here's a possible workaround: Use OE to import the old settings, and then export the IAF file from OE. Does it find the settings?

I might be missing something but I don't see how to import those files in XP or 2k3...

That was pretty convenient and I really wonder the reason for removing this feature...

Interestingly no answer to this thread...

    Thanks for the pointers.

As far as I can see there is no way to export on machine A runing 2000 and import on machine B runing 2002... Not to mention that 2003 beta doesn't want to retrieve saved settings from 2002.

A big mess, as far as I am concerned.
