    Use Account (XP Home)

When altering the name in the User Account, or the 3D Text screensaver, there seems to be a limit of 20 characters. Is there any way, perhaps by editing the registry if necessary, of changing this apparent default limit so as to be able to enter a longer name?

    Hi, Philkiwi ~

User account names are limited to 20 characters and group names are limited to 256 characters and I don't think this is controlled by the registry.

I recompiled the default string table in the 3D Text screensaver with 30, 25, and 22 characters, but it will only recognize 20 characters including spaces, so unfortunately you will not be able to enter a longer name <img src=/S/sorry.gif border=0 alt=sorry width=15 height=15>

Password length can be reduced to zero to avoid a sign-in, but a username length must be 6-20 characters.
