    OLE/Packager (A97 + W2k + O2K)

    Is there any way to turn off the "Packager" in W2000? I am trying to modify some bitmaps in an OLE field in a table, but whenever I insert the bitmap the Packager promptly wraps it up and show an icon instead of the picture. I know that embedding pictures is not the best way to go, but this is an inherited DB, which really needs a complete rewrite, and I don

    What do you mean, "as pictures"? You're never going to see pictures in your table. What format object are you trying to insert? Jpegs come in as packages.

    The pictures are standard .bmp bitmap files.

    Currently the pictures are listed in the OLE field of the table as

    OK I have found a workround in the Knowledge Base The article cites JPEG's but works the same for .BMP

    This lets you insert pictures but is a bit longwinded, looks like another ms "improvemnt" gone wrong.
