    Upgrade (Access 2000)

I have just had to re-install A2000 after installing A97.
What is involved in upgrading to SR-1 for A2000?
What do I need to be aware of?

    Re: Upgrade (Access 2000)

    Hi Pat,

In a recent edition of Woody's Office Watch, there was a description of upgrading Office 2000 to various service releases. It was all in the context of upgrading due to the MSDE/SQL Server/Slammer worm problem, but the information should be helpful.

Here's the link to that edition: http://www.woodyswatch.com/office/ar...ate.asp?v8-n07

Thanks Brent, I have looked at this site and notice that it says to download the Windows Installer first.
Would you recommend this or just go ahead and update to SR-1?

If you don't have version 2 of the Windows installer, I recommend you download it. Depending on your operating system, you may have the version that came with Win2k, and it had some problems.

    Thanks Charlotte

I have Win95 as the OS.
Do you still recommend the download of version 2, how do I know what version of Windows Installer it is?

I would just download it and not worry about it. Office 2000 itself used the original version and it had an annoying habit of popping up over and over even though Office had been installed already.
