Printer out of Paper error (2002)

I have two printers installed, an HP LJ 5L and a Lexmark Z42. Suddenly and for no apparent reason BOTH printer, when called to print, generate a 'Printer out of Paper' error. The printer are NOT out of paper and by simply turning them off and back on they will print.
Any ideas what may have caused this and how can I rememdy it?
    Thanks in advance .. Gad

Both printers to the same computer?

    Are they parallel or USB?

Have you tried to remove the drivers and then reinstall them?

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

I have also been told if you unplug the printers from the main power source ( outlet ) and leave unpluged for 15 to 20 minutes, if there is no real problem the error will reset itself and go away.
