    Converting macros (W97 to W2000)

    Hello,

I have to convert some word 97 documents with macros into word 2000 documents.

Is this easy to do? Is there anything that I should consider and are there any bugs or problems to watch out for?

    Thanks,

    J

<img src=/S/hello.gif border=0 alt=hello width=25 height=29> Have you tried opening 1 of the 97 documents including its macro, in Word 2000? It has been my experience that the macros work just fine. Hope you have the same result.

You don't need to convert from Word 97 to Word 2000 (or Word 2002). The file format has not changed, and the programming language hasn't either. (This is a slight simplification, but for practical purposes, you can see it that way.) Of course, Word 200 has new features that are supported in documents and in VBA, but that doesn't concern you when moving to a higher version.

So you can just open your documents in Word 2000.

thanks for your advice. i just wanted to check.

I had heard that the standard security levels had changed, and it is an idea to add a digital signature, but other than that I was not sure.

    Thanks again
