    Metadata (Word 2000 SP 3)

I have been reading with interest the debate about Metadata giving away hidden secrets when e-mailing word documents. Can anyone tell me if when word documents are saved in .RTF format & then e-mailed if the problem still exists. Or is Metadata only saved in .DOC & .DOT formats. Apologies for my lack of knowledge in advance & many thanks in anticipation of your response.

    Hi Kevin:
Saving a file in RTF format will eliminate routing information & previous author information, but doesn't remove all the metadata. See this article for more information.
    Cheers,

Or, as long as your recipient doesn't need to edit the doc, convernting to a .pdf file eliminates the metadata, provided you have your Acrobat settings specified correctly.
