    Excel and Lotus Notes (97)

Don't know if this is the correct place to post, but here it goes anyway...

I need to be able to open an Excel file from my company's intranet site that uses Lotus Notes to managed the intranet pages.
When I try to attach the Excel file, and click on it from the intranet page, the file opens within Internet Explorer, thus not allowing any macros within the spreadsheet to operate.

    Any ideas???

This is a setting in your Operating system.

    - open explorer and choose Tools, folder options
    - click the filetypes tab
    - find the ones marked Microsoft Excel Workbook
    - Click Edit (or change or whatever, I currently have a Dutch system)
    - Uncheck "Open in same window"

    Thanks Jan.

Unfortunately I'm unable to follow your advice as my company uses a controlled desktop environment, which doesn't enable us to alter such settings.
Oh well, I'll have to find another method.

    Cheers.

can you not just right-click on the file and detach it to your local drive?
