Are you just changing the location of a .pst file from the local PC to a server? Or do you want to change from a .pst file to a server based inbox? If you wish to change location only for Outlook XP - shut down Outlook, right click on the Outlook desktop icon, select data files. Change the location. Move the old .pst file to the new server location. Restart Outlook. If you wish to change to a server based inbox, you must add an Exchange server account to your profile. Then you can import the old data from the .pst to the new server based account.

    Fantastic! <img src=/S/clapping.gif border=0 alt=clapping width=19 height=23>

Thanks Joe. That is dead easy once you know how. <img src=/S/bow.gif border=0 alt=bow width=15 height=15>

I still have one small problem, under the users "Address Book" I can still see the corporate (global) list but the personal one is still pointing to the Contacts in Personal Folders. I'm obviously missing something simple but can't figure what.

BTW, I should mention for anyone else who reads this that you need to exit from Outlook before it points to the new mailbox.

Joe, thanks very much for your assistance in this.

I found the answer when I revisited MS Knowledge Base, Article 161349 which says, in part,

"How to Mark Your Contact Folder for Use with Your Address Book

    1. In the Folder List, click to select the folder you would like to use with the Address Book. If you do not see the Folder List, click Folder List on the View menu.

    2. On the File menu, point to Folder, and then click Properties for your folder name.

    3. On the Outlook Address Book tab, click to select Show this folder as an e-mail address book, type a descriptive name, and then click OK."

I think the nine hours sleep last night may have been a factor!
