Hidden garbage in WORD document (Word97/2000)

!!! Update: found it myself.... someone had switched on Track-changes but then with highlighting off.... The documen was full of deletions that hadn't been accepted yet...

Been there before with EXCEL, now I have it in WORD...

Have a one page WORD doc that saves as 22Mb (there's nothing visible on the page). Saving as HTML reveals 22Mb of pictures suddenly. This is a remainder of a large report. I know there's all sorts of garbage in there.

In general, how do I clean-up an existing document so the garbage is stripped off (the document will be complex so saving as RTF or HTML will not do). I am (always) doing normal saves (not Fast-saves) already.

    Anyone?

    Thanks!

    Hi Erik:
If you're talking about metadata, you can search this forum for the word & you can read more at this link. I don't think, but I'm not sure that it will find tracked changes that you forgot about.
    Cheers,
