    Average (Access 2000)

    Hi,

Would someone tell me if the following can be done.

    Field_ A ----Field_B
    -9--------------6.5
    -8--------------6.5
    -7--------------6.5
    -6--------------6.5
    -5--------------6.5
    -4--------------6.5

Can "Field_B" show the average of "FIeld_A" in every record?

    Thanks for your help,
    Bill

    Re: Average (Access 2000)

    Method 1: use DAvg.

In a query based on your table, add a calculated field:

    Field_B: DAvg("Field_A","tblYourTable")

Replace Field_A and tblYourTable by the appropriate field and table names.

Method 2: use a nested query.

In a query based on your table, add a calculated field:

    Field_B: (SELECT Avg([Field_A]) FROM tblYourTable)

Again, replace Field_A and tblYourTable by the appropriate field and table names.
