I have also been using it for about a month and in my opion (if thats worth anything ); one of the best features is the ability to creat icons from jpeg files with just a click of the mouse.

I didn't know you could create Icons with it. I will have to look into that.

Re: IrfanView 3.80

I just love IrfanView. I'm not sure if it was a while ago when I downloaded from Cnet Downlad.com that I read Iview 3.80 supported Webshots files. That'd be great, so I could create my own Webshots wallpaper from any JPG/PNG/[whatever format supported] pic. But I couldn't find this *.wbz support (to tell the truth, I haven't been able to devote much time either). I've recently reinstalled and among the file formats to associate with, I couldn't find *.wbz. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Cowboy; just open any common graphic file (do you editing or whatever) and select the save as option selecting the Save as type .ico - Windows icon. No manual resizing required.

Hi, Bruce,

Thanks a lot for the info. I'll have to try it at home, as my office PC is low on resources and I won't install Webshots here. I'll report back. Anyway, it looks like I haven't been much into Webshots... It seems so simple!!!!
One more thing: judging from your attachment, you somehow changed Iview's original skin (yours is way better ). Where do I find that option? Or is it just that I'm using Win98 and you installed a package for a different Win ver (if ever that package exists)? I'd go for the first.

It is a visual style I've added to the system's default blue, olive green, and silver native to XP via an interface called StyleXP. It is called 'XtremeXP' and was extracted from a theme package available at ThemeXP.

For more info, please see this related post.

Yeah, looks real good. These are the 3rd-party things that'll get me upgrading to XP .

Re: IrfanView 3.80

I have had WinXP from the 1st day it came out. At fisrt there were alot of incompatibility problems with some Hard Ware, but most of those problems have been taken care of. I haven't had any problems with WinXP in a very long time. I love it. It is miles ahead of most and a joy to use. And there are alot of cool third party programs and freeware out there made for XP. When you get ready to upgrade just tell my buddy Bill Gates, Cowboy sent ya.

Awright, I'll go fetch a buncha bucks and take the next plane to Redmond. Cowboy sure has arranged a discount price, right?
