    Large File (Office 97 SR2)

    Hi

    Here's a little teaser I have an excel spreadsheet 63Mgb it will open on machine with 64MGB Ram, but when I try to open it on a machine with 128MGB ram it says not enough memory and also on anothe machine with 512MGB ram it still says not enough memory, funny peculiar eh.

    It's a file that was sent by Italian Parent company, It contains codes and profiles for all the machinery we sell.

    Hi Braddy,

    I think this might be a Windows resource issue, rather than a physical/virtual memory issue. I've seen the same with workbooks around the 60Mb mark, with networked machines seemingly having more difficulty regardless of the amount of memory.

    I probably should have been using a database anyway, but I'm reluctant to go over to the dark side <img src=/S/duck.gif border=0 alt=duck width=23 height=23> , as seems to be the case with your parent company too.
