    Printing cut off (Word XP/SP2)

This is a Novell 6 environment with NDPS printing. Printing from Word, frequently the bottom 2.5 inches is cut off. The printer is not getting overflow errors - this just not print. At one point when I was in Page Setup, I got the message that margins are outside the printable area, Fix or Ignore. Fix set my bottom margin to 2.5 inches. This is an HP Laserjet 4050. I have tried both PCL5 and PCL print drivers. The jet direct has the latest firmware.

This has not been duplicated in any other application - but most of their printing is from Word.

    Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions?

There have been many posts here on this "large bottom margin" problem, but I thought they affected HP inkjets, so I never really memorized the solution. Try some searches and see if it turns up.

This turned out to be a print driver. We had downloaded and used the latest from HP. We installed the drivers that shipped with Win XP and the problem went away.
