    NT Login Scripts

    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could advise me on rationalising a group of login scripts - When I joined my company, I found that the procedure was to use a seperate login script for every user, and I want to be able to create a single batch file which will work for everyone, using KIX to run services.
I would be very grateful for any comments or suggestions.

    Thanks in advance,

    Ian

    Re: NT Login Scripts

When I started at this company, they did not use login scripts at all. I have now implemented login scripts enterprise wide (7 different locations). We use a single login script using KixTart. Makes administration much easier if there is something that needs to be changed. Currently we handle our VirusScan updates and map drives based on group membership with the script. We use a simple batch file to copy the script to all the login servers. I can't even imagine the amount of work that it would take for you to make a change for every script. Centralized login script in MHO is the only way to go.

How do you do this? I'm not familiar with how to get this information from inside a .bat file.

All we use the batch file for is to run the KiXtart executable with the appropriate script file. They have a lot of examples and sample scripts at the kixtart website:
