Margins in 'Normal view' (2000 SP-3)

When I open a Word .doc and click on "View/Normal", even though the margin distances are set correctly on the ruler, the text extends far beyond them on the right side; many times so far beyond them that I have to use the horizontal scroll bar to view the document. This is a new occurence and has happened since I installed the SP-3 patch. Can someone tell me how I can fix this anomaly?

Have a look at your Tools > Options and on the View tab do you have a tick in the Wrap to Window option? This shouldn't allow the text to go beyond the screen though.

    Andrew,

    Nice call! <img src=/S/joy.gif border=0 alt=joy width=23 height=23> I unchecked that option to "Wrap to window" and that fixed it! <IMG SRC=http://www.the-highway.com/Smileys/thanks.gif>

PS..... I wish all problems were as quickly and easily fixed!
