    Tab order (FrontPage 2002)

Does anyone know of an easy way to change the tab order in a form? I can't find anything on this topic. Thanks.

Not sure what is easier and what is harder... You can have a TABINDEX attribute for each <INPUT> and <TEXTAREA>, and the tab key will move from lowest to highest on the form. Whether it's easiest to use FP dialogs or to type it into the HTML pane is a matter of personal choice, I guess. If there's a wizard that watches you click and then transcribes the results for you, I wouldn't be surprised, but I haven't seen it. 'course, I haven't really looked for it either, I just leave my forms in the default order.

Oops, thought I'd posted earlier. Right click on each field - you'll find the setting for tab order inside the Form Field dialogue box.

    Cheers

    Re: Tab order (FrontPage 2002)

I'm sorry, I should have been clearer in my post. I have an existing form with, oh, 30 or so fields. I need to add a few more fields at different places in the form. As you know the new fields will pick up where the last original field number left off. I would like to be able to add new fields at various places and then re-order the tab numbering, as you can do in MS Access. I don't think FP allows that, but I thought I'd ask. Thanks for your help!

No that function is not present in Front Page - how annoying!

Don't you just love the symmetry between the Office apps? Sheesh! Looks like the easiest will be to modify the TABINDEX values. Thanks to all for the replies.

I'm sure it would be possible to write a macro to do it...
