Backing up WMP9

    Hi all,

I'm going to reformat my PC and I want to first backup (amongst other things) my song ratings etc in Media Player 9. I have located Cocuments and SettingsMarkLocal SettingsApplication DataMicrosoftMedia Player as the folder containing the database for WMP and I just wanted to know if anyone has had any experience in backing up and restoring this database? My main concern is will it remember all the ratings automatically when I reinstall, assuming I put all the media back in the same folders as before and then restore the WMP database??

Anyone with any experience in this that can share thier ideas?

(Edited by DaveA on 21-Mar-03 09:46. )
Hi folks, just to let you know I've found an unsuppoorted powertoy from MS that pupports to backup the user ratings into the mp3/wma files themselves. The download is here: http://windowsmedia.com/9series/personaliz...kup=P#powertoys.

I'll let you know how useful this tool is when I come out the other side of my re-install!
