While in a data base program all of the sudden the following message appeared: "Dumping memory onto disk" What is this implying???

    What database program?
Has it happened more than once?
Any other consequences, like the program crashing?
Was the message created by the database program or W2K?

No, this has never happened before and it is a program that a company developed just for us. Nothing else occurred and everything is working fine now.

It sounds to me like a function (warning) specific to the program you are running. It detected it was running out of memory and literally dumped the data it was holding to disc.
If it happens again, I'd query the software developers.
