What's happened to [snap]?

I've been a very complacent dude even though it seems impossible to get my Hawai`i flag posted as a Smilie. But now the only thing I had going for me, that bold and bodacious Snap face for my page name, isn't working. Shucks. When you're an old man in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, it doesn't take much to make you happy -- or unhappy.

Could sumbuddy please check that Snap thing?

What "snap thing" are you asking about?

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

The text in your post styled with the Snap ITC font looks quite different to me. I think maybe your cache is clogged and you need to restart IE or Windows.

Maybe -- just maybe! -- when I've been fooling around with the fonts installed on my computer I deleted the one that Woody calls "SNAP."

I find no such name on any font! It's an interloper, an outsider, an uninvited guest -- but I like it. Any idea what the name of that little critter would be in the real world?

    (Trying Brush Script) Hawai`i Bill

AHA, it worked. If the 'Brush' is there then the Snap font should work. So now we've shown that somebody has been meffin' with my Snap!

I think the Lounge help screens cover how to get the fonts you don't have on your system.

The TIF is your "temporary internet files."

I find that Snap font hard to read at 1024x768 resolution, but that's another issue.

<!help=19>Help 19<!/help> - 3/4 of the way down, and you will find all the 'Lounge' fonts for download . . .

    Re: What's happened to [snap]?

    Jefferson,

Yes, the help screen does have that. My problem in all life is to know what is in the infinitely deep barrel that is the internet, That includes's Woody's copious help pages and past posts and what in the world would I do without the excellent help received daily right here! Thank you.

The welcome suggestion that I clear my TIF was not relevant, it turned out. My snap.ttf needed to be installed. Questions remain, however, since it turns out, apparently, that I never had snap.ttf installed! I went through every font disk in my collection and it simply isn't on them. So how was I reading that font until so very recently on Woody's pages? Could it have been installed during my brief flirtation with wopr? Will wonders never cease?

But as for being 'hard to read.' Suggest a revisit to Marshall McLuhan who taught that a slight obscurity can be a good thing. His point was that if it's too clear, it's often missed. His example was net stockings which, your experience may recall, are never missed. So 'involvement' is a measure of success in getting noticed -- if not appreciated -- which, as a public relations advocate, I'm forced to consider a good thing.
